The reformer tubes were installed in January 2007, at the time of this inspection the approximate age of the tubes is 12+ years. All of the tubes showed good condition with no cracks or expansion and have remained stable since last inspection. This condition comes from very controlled operating conditions over the years. Reformer tubes are designed to 100,000 operating hours, this operating time can be extended when the operating company keeps close controls on conditions. Controlling the temperature, plant cycles and thermal stresses are some of the leading factors to extending tube life. HFC has done a good job of controlling their reformer and at this time we would recommend the next inspection at 2-3 years under normal operating conditions.
